One of the more interesting incidents involving unidentified flying objects is a series of sightings from July 1952 from the US capital, Washington. The incidents were accompanied by radar sightings in the Washington area and were the first sightings that were reported as potentially physical craft operated by intelligent beings from another planet. The CIA established the Robertson Panel, which advised Project Blue Book to “deprive Unidentified Flying Objects of the special status they have been given and the aura of mystery they have unfortunately acquired.
What really happened there?
On July 19, 1952, at 11:40 p.m. local time, Washington airport controller Edward Nugent noticed seven objects on his radar screen. The objects were located 15 miles southwest of the city. They were moving away from the beaten track in the area. Controller Howard Cocklin confirmed that he had seen the objects on his radar, and added that he had seen them visually from the air traffic control tower. The objects were visible on radar and approaching the city. After some time, they hovered over the White House and the U.S. Congress building. Senior Dispatcher Harry Barnes called Andrews Air Force Base, where it was confirmed that they had also seen unusual objects on radar.
On July 20, 1952, at 3:00 a.m., two fighter jets from Newcastle Air Force Base, Delaware, arrived at the scene, but no unidentified objects were detected. The planes returned to the base. Later, at 5:30 a.m., the objects reappeared on radar in the Washington area. A radio engineer from the Washington suburb, E. W. Chambers, reported seeing “five large disks in an irregular pattern.” “Five large disks circling in loose formation. They banked up and went down a steep slope.” That morning, many newspapers across the country covered the incident on their front pages. A typical example is the headline in the Cedar Rapids Gazette (Iowa): “Saucers Over Capital.”
On July 26, 1952, beginning at 9:30 p.m., unidentified objects were observed in all sectors of all radars in the Washington area. The objects moved slowly, sometimes changing direction. At 11:20 p.m., two fighters from Newcastle AFB, Delaware, entered airspace over Washington State. One of the pilots, Lieutenant William Patterson, saw four white, glowing objects and decided to pursue them. Suddenly, objects appeared around his plane. Patterson asked the control tower at Washington Airport what to do in such a situation. The answer from the tower was, “Dead silence.” Within minutes, the objects had disappeared.
On the morning of July 27, 1952, the events of the previous night once again made headlines.
Radar flashes were observed in Washington from July 12 to 29, 1952.
The UFO incidents in Washington prompted a response from the US Air Force, the White House administration, and US President Harry Truman. The phenomenon was widely reported by news agencies, including the Washington Post and the New York Times.
A subsequent investigation by the Civil Aviation Administration confirmed that such radar interferences occurred quite often and were caused by temperature inversions.
The big question is: are we going to continue to bury our heads in the sand, pretending that nothing happened, trusting our politicians and governments who, in the name of not causing panic and hiding constant contacts with an alien civilization, receive advanced technology?
Realizing that alien civilizations have been manipulating and controlling homo sapiens for centuries will allow us to at least partially understand unexplained phenomena observed for millennia by people unfamiliar with advanced technology, who interpreted them as “divine” actions.
Does my train of thought make any sense? As usual, everyone has to answer this question for themselves.
