Asking Enoch about the sins of Angels

In today’s reflections, I decided to return to the apocryphal Book of Enoch, which did not make it into the main collection of books of the Bible, but is an excellent source of information that is understandably inconvenient. This time, I would like to explore the connections between extraterrestrial beings (angels) and humans and their sins, in the literal sense of the word.

In a previous post, I presented the story of Enoch (Noah’s great-grandfather), who was taken to “heaven” twice. After the first time, he returned safe and sound to Earth, only to be taken again some time later.

So how did extraterrestrial beings sin on Earth?

Book of Enoch 6:1-3

1 And when the people had multiplied, fair and beautiful daughters were born to them in those days. 2 The sons of heaven, the angels, saw them and desired them. One said to the other, “Come, let us choose wives for ourselves from among the daughters of men and beget children.”
3 Shemihaza, who was their commander, said to them, “I fear that you may not be willing to do this, and that I alone will bear the penalty for this great sin.”

First: Angels lived on Earth alongside humans, so they were two separate species, but related.
Second: Angels fathered children with human women, which explains that the difference between species was not very great; we were related—this allowed human women to bear hybrid children.
Third: Angels had a commander on Earth, which indicates hierarchy, dominion, civilization, and a large number of extraterrestrials on Earth.

Book of Enoch 6:6-8

6 There were about two hundred of them in all. They descended to Ardis, the summit of Mount Hermon. They called it Mount Hermon, because on it they swore and bound one another with curses.
7 These are the names of their leaders: Shemihazah their leader, Urakiba, Ramiel, Kokabiel, Tamiel, Ramiel, Daniel, Ezekiel, Barakiel, Asael, Armaros, Batriel, Ananiel, Zakiel, Samsiel, Sartael (…), Turiel, Jomiel, Araziel.
8 These are the leaders of the two hundred angels and all the others with them.

Fourth: In the following verses, we learn of the 200 “angels” who resided on Earth—they all had names; they were not impersonal and nameless entities.
Fifth: With such a large number of “angels” on Earth, they had many intermediate commanders, which indicates a hierarchy similar to a military one (corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, etc.).
Sixth: The large number of “angels” descending on Mount Hermon indicates the landing (possibly multiple times) of a rather large space shuttle.

Book of Enoch 7:1-5

1 And they took wives for themselves, one each. They began to go to them and associate with them. They taught them sorcery and enchantments and showed them how to cut down roots and trees.
2 And they became pregnant and gave birth to great giants. Their height was three thousand cubits. 3 They devoured all the labor of the people, and the people were unable to support them.
4 The giants turned against the people to devour them.
5 And they sinned against the birds, the beasts, the reptiles, and the fish. They devoured the flesh of one another and drank the blood.

Seventh: angels took human women as “wives” and produced giant hybrids, which caused further problems, which in the eyes of the “gods” was considered a sin.

From this it is quite clear that it was the physical extraterrestrials, erroneously called angels, who committed the “sin” by mating with human women and producing hybrids. This could have resulted in another descent, another mating with individuals at a lower level of evolution, which in turn led to the contamination of the population of “pure” humans created by higher beings, who initiated the evolution of hominids into Homo sapiens.

The ending phase of the last ice age may have contributed to the decision to exterminate all humans, hybrids, and mutants, allowing the melting ice cap to cause a great global flood and kill all impure beings.

Of course, I leave the interpretation of the above considerations to each individual.
