Did an extraterrestrial civilization use high-tech weapons in 701 BC?

Today’s story concerns the killing of 185,000 Assyrian soldiers by an angel of Yahweh in a single night.

One of the most famous military campaigns undertaken by the Assyrian king Sennacherib is his “Third War” against the kingdoms to the west, during which he attacked the kingdom of Judah and laid siege to its capital Jerusalem.

Sennacherib (Akkadian: Sîn-aḫḫē-erība; biblical: Sennacherib) was a Sargonid king of Assyria, son of Sargon II, and father and predecessor of Esarhaddon. His reign is dated from 705 to 681 BCE.

The war is mentioned in the Bible, in the Book of Kings, 2 Kings and the Book of Isaiah. Reliefs from the Southwest Palace in Nineveh also provide information about this event, and it is also mentioned in Herodotus (History II 141) and Josephus (Antiquities of the Jews IX 284) and in the Annals of Sennacherib. This expedition took place at a time when Hezekiah was on the throne of Judah and the siege of Jerusalem took place.

According to 2 Kings, the king of Judah, Hezekiah, sent an envoy to the ruler of Assyria asking him to stop the invasion of Judah.

2 Kings 18:14

14 Then Ezechias, king of Juda, sent messengers to the king of the Assyrians, to Lachis, saying: I have offended, depart from me: and all that thou shalt put upon me, I will bear. And the king of the Assyrians put a tax upon Ezechias, king of Juda, of three hundred talents of silver, and thirty talents of gold.

Despite the tribute, Sennacherib decided to take Jerusalem.
Yahweh, speaking through the prophet Isaiah, foretold the defeat of the Assyrians as well as the death of King Sennacherib.

2 Kings 19:32

32 Wherefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of the Assyrians: He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow into it, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a trench about it.

2 Kings 19:7

7 Behold I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a message, and shall return into his own country, and I will make him fall by the sword in his own country.

That same night the Angel of the Lord killed 185,000 Assyrians.

2 Kings 19:35-36

35 And it came to pass that night, that an angel of the Lord came, and slew in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And when he arose early in the morning, he saw all the bodies of the dead.
36 And Sennacherib, king of the Assyrians, departing, went away, and he returned and abode in Ninive.

As usual, we have here several “extraordinary events” that are difficult to explain in a rational way:
1. Contact of a “higher”, “supernatural” person with a chosen man (here: Isaiah)
2. Planned attack by an enemy army, in order to protect the chosen nation
3. Killing of 185 thousand people by the Creator, who, after all, created people in his own image and whom he loved. Some accounts inform about the use of a death ray or a light ray by the angel of Yahweh.

So the question for today is: did a representative of an extraterrestrial civilization intervene in human affairs once again, protecting the chosen ones?
And the most important thing: did representatives of an extraterrestrial civilization use technologically advanced weapons in 701 BC?

As always, I leave the answers to each individual.
