Stories about giants inhabiting the earth are very old and appear in almost all ancient oral and written traditions, on all continents. The most famous are probably the biblical described in the first Book of Genesis.
In many places around the world, archaeologists are discovering remains that are too large for homo sapiens and previous forms of humanoids, measuring over 2.5 – 3 meters hight.
Genesis 6:1-4:
1. And after that men began to be multiplied upon the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2 The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves wives of all which they chose.
3 And God said: My spirit shall not remain in man for ever, because he is flesh, and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4 Now giants were upon the earth in those days. For after the sons of God went in to the daughters of men, and they brought forth children, these are the mighty men of old, men of renown.
The Bible, as is well known, does not provide many facts and information for the simple reason that content that was inconvenient for the church and its followers may have been removed in the past.
More information is provided by the apocryphal Book of Enoch 6:1-8:
1 And when the people had multiplied, fair and beautiful daughters were born to them in those days.
2 The sons of heaven, the angels, saw them and desired them. One said to another, “Come, let us choose wives for ourselves from the daughters of men, and let us beget children for ourselves.”
3 Shemihaza, who was their commander, said to them, “I am afraid that you may not be willing to do this, and that I alone will suffer the punishment for this great sin.”
4 They all answered him and said, “Let us all swear and bind ourselves with curses that we will not change this plan, but we will carry out the plan.”
5 Then they all swore together and bound themselves with curses.
6 There were two hundred of them in all. They descended on Ardis, the top of Mount Hermon. They called it Mount Hermon, because by it they swore and bound themselves with curses.
7 These are the names of their leaders: Shemihaza their captain, Urakibah, Ramiel, Kokabiel, Tamiel, Ramiel, Daniel, Ezekiel, Barakiel, Asael, Armaros, Batriel, Ananiel, Zakiel, Samsiel, Sartael (…), Turiel, Jomiel , Araziel.
8 These are the commanders of the two hundred angels and all the others with them.
And the Book of Enoch 7,1-2:
1 They took wives, one each. They started going to them and hanging out with them. They taught them witchcraft and incantations and showed them how to cut down roots and trees.
2 They became pregnant and gave birth to great giants. Their height was three thousand cubits.
As you can see, the text from the Bible coincides with the text from the Book of Enoch, with the difference that much information from the Bible has been removed.
It can be presumed that the Sons of God and humans were genetically compatible, which enabled human women to become pregnant and give birth to hybrids of supernatural height.
Another interesting, quite well-known fragment about giants is the story of David and Goliath. This is interesting because the flood that took place many centuries earlier was supposed to have wiped out all creatures (except Noah and his family), including giants.
1 Samuel 17:4:
4 And there went out a man baseborn from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Geth, whose height was six cubits and a span:
The cubit was 57.60 cm, which makes Goliath over 3 meters tall.
David, later king of Israel, lived around 1040 B.C. to approximately 970 B.C. which creates another question about the presence of giants after the flood, in times much closer to us…
Also taking into account that the Anunnaki from the Sumerian epics were much taller than humans, measuring about 4 meters, they could have been the reason for the birth of such large Anunnaki-human hybrids, which would explain their appearance on Earth, parallel to the homo sapiens line.
So the question for today is: who were the Sons of God, who fathered children with human women?
If they were angels, i.e. non-physical, spiritual persons, how did physical intercourse occur?
If they were physical beings, flesh and blood, which explains physical contact with human women, then who exactly were the Sons of God? For me, they weren’t disembodied angels…
